It is so important to constantly challenge ourselves physically. We are people wanting to influence each other and others we meet along the way.
This is where we can get workouts for the day, track your times, pr's, ask and reply to questions and comments.
This is also where we will share what events we are participating in and opening them up to the rest of the team to take part in.

Team.
This past Saturday's team competition set the bar for how well you could work together- to be able to accomplish something to completion, strategizing, communicating and focusing on each-other's strengths.... which also meant we were able to know what our weaknesses are.
(It seems you become more aware of yourself the older you get...)
27 Rx'd teams participated.
ANYthing Once placed 13th.
Wod#1 Human Plow
3Rnds
1min AMRAP deadlift 205/315
1min AMRAP frontsquat 155/185
1min AMRAP weighted skidsteer pullups 25/50
1min Rest
AO- 119 reps / 11th
Went well... tb managed ALL of the weighted pullups! syd-jb mixed in front squat / syd-val mixed in DL..
Wod#2 Angy Bovine
In sequential order all teammates must complete:
50 tire swings 35/55
40yd shuttle run
50 ball slams 20/40
AO- 26:04 / 20th
We over-estimated the difficulty of this a bit. We don't even have a 40# med ball to be able to know just how fast the biceps would burn out for the men. This hit a lot of competitors, including us... had to dig deep!
Wod#3 Stampede 1.0
8min AMRAP
6 power cleans 125/155
3 push jerks 125/155
40yd 120# railroad tie carry
= a completed round
AO- 12rnd / 8th
Awesome last WOD. This is when you know how well you can work together. The two previous Wods still singled you out to an extent but depending on how you strategized this one- this would define teams that could work, talk, and push each other. Cleans and Jerks continued so the tie could in-theory, keep moving. tb, JB, syd switched off the tie carry and bar work- I just did bar work. We had to talk to keep going and let each other know if they could go or not... definitely sucking some air at times but we kept the tie going and our judges yelled immediately to get back at cleans.
The end of this one was exciting as a team to see what you were able to accomplish together.
We could make this a day next summer- come out, get a few more out competing and being able to enjoy the day with our family and friends cheering us on. There is something to say when you have those you care about most with you, yelling at you from the sidelines.... It makes the entire even feel complete.
We look forward to this now... especially after Saturday. There is just something about working all year long that makes an event like this special- a lot of that is just the athlete in us, wanting to compete again.
We compete all week/year long- Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Track. But competing from a coaching stand point isn't like competing from an athletes standpoint- as a Coach- it is just you. as an Athlete- it is all about TEAM.

YOGA & REST...sort of
Today was a REST day for those of us going to the Fittest Farmhand Team Challenge...
On the menu was some YOGA...felt good to be moving and stretching, bending, flexing, binding and doing headstands...It was nice to hear Hepp doing these... I am not the only one that makes noise while stretching!
Feidt came in and did the prescribed WOD! His warm-up consisted of working on D/U's...
Which he PR'ed in for a 2nd time in a week...things are getting better
Tue...he got 40 in a row... Today he got 42...

OPEN Re-Do 13.4
13.4 RE-DO...
Warm-Up brief...
13.4 retest
AMRAP in 7 Min (ascending reps 3-6-9...etc)
Clean & Jerk (135#/95#)
Toes to Bar
Clean Tech. / 3 Sets of the following:
High-Hang Squat Clean + Hang Sqt Clean + Low-Hang Sqt Clean + Slpit Jerk
Keep it on the lighter side...
Strength
Push Press 3 x 5, climing
JB ~ 63 reps
Britt ~ 63 Reps (@115#)
Des ~ 40 Reps (@90#)
Feidt ~ 71 Reps
hepp ~ 62 Reps
Syd ~ 84 Reps
Val ~ 59 Reps (73 in spring)
tb ~ 86 Reps (90 in spring) / 135-145-155 / 155-165-175
Don't know why we were not the same as spring...Thoughts are that I was MUCH more focused and we really "gamed" our second attempts on Sundays... PLUS it was more competition and pushing rather than "just a WOD"...
Also, my nutrition in the spring was 1,000 times better than it has been this summer!
So, all-in-all, I am not that disappointed in the performance, but was hoping for better...
I also did not check my spring score before I did this WOD...I did not want to give myself something to shoot for purposely... Just wanted to go hard and see what I could do...
I know I could have "coached" val thru to her old score (or close)! That is the difference in working out with a coach/motivator vs. going at it alone! Also the difference from 2 weeks in Alaska vs. the 4th week of the OPEN!
I cannot wait for the Fittest Farmhand TEAM Comp.
It is going to be a blast!!! Sorry in advance if JB, Val & Syd need to "carry me"!

I went through a bit of what we are following from CFNE... inspiring is a way to put it...
Everyone is starting to come home...
It is starting to get crowded in a good way- especially since school isn't in session for a few weeks it allows us to all get back on the same page with each other... We may be gone on excursions for the summer but when we get back in the WR not much has changed (except for what current level we are performing at).
It is great to have Hepp in, Syd still, JB back from backpacking, Maloney sightings, and all of us back at 6am with Britt&DD... feels good to be back together...

Yoga with the girls today- Official: Those days will be coming back this year in the morning.
You just feel... Good!
Things are coming up... For all of us.. So get it done.
Things in the Fall tend to get busy...school, coaching, etc...
DO NOT neglect yourself in the process!!! It is easy to say it will only be a bit...sooner or later you find out you have replaced your "you time" with more stuff... All that "more stuff" will still be there and will always be there! There is always more to do... What you do for yourself on a daily basis is extremely important to YOUR well being... Makes you a better father, mother, husband, wife, significant other, friend, coach, colleague, person to be around, etc
NOW...if you are focused on yourself for an entire day, while neglecting the daily routine of work (house or school)...then that is just selfish... What we are talking about here is 45-90minutes for yourself... Working out, Yoga, meditating, etc...This puts life in balance and perspective as well... So get it done.

What is time really? And what does it mean to us?
When you break it down, you want to make the most of it. Every day we have our routine and our to-do lists but we also know that we aren't going to accomplish it all, things will come up, and interference will happen. So, we push it on to the next day.
There is time that we need to work with others.. we depend on them or they, us and the last thing we want to do is leave feeling as if their, or our, time has been wasted. This kind of time can utilize creativity to result in productivity and simply better the relationships you have with each other... whether it takes more time or not, as long as no one feels it has been wasted, it has been successful.
Time we set aside for our own goals and aspirations. The hesitation to begin something that will take more than a week, month, or year. The understanding that you can't 'do it all at once' and you must choose. Or maybe you are deciding to change it up a bit for the long haul... change is inevitable and what it does to the time we have can improve or diminish those moments.
My last class of this summer ends tomorrow- this was the largest chunk of time I have set aside in a while for something I had to commit to, but because I did, I am projected to be doing my practicum next summer! I walk away concluding that having my masters done in a year + a half will be time well-spent... because "what is a year + a half in the grande scheme of things..." That is a statement I heard from someone when they had their first child and how things were going to be different for a while- "what is a couple years..." it is always going to be what you make & they are on baby #2.... so here is to Time well-spent and well-worth it!
Something to make you smile... my family has some of the best pictures.. hard to compete with guinea pigs but look at these two!

To Be Continued...
Sorry the posts have been so late...
Football two-a-days are long and tough...
Lots to do once practice has ended...
PLUS, Val is busy hitting volleyballs to the girls during FB practice ;-)
Today ~
Warm-Up:
800m Run
3 Rnds:
5 HSPU
7 Squat Therapy
10 Lungewalks
Other warm-up as needed...
The Reuben (courtesy CFNE)
For Time:
25 Thrusters (95#/65#)
25 T2B
25 Box Jumps (24/20) games standard
25 T2B
25 Thrusters
3 x 2 min Max Rep D/U, 1min Rest b/t sets
800m run (if time)
Well, If time turned into warm-up and The Ruben...
Hopes were to get the 3 x 2min in @ break in two-a-days...Yea, Right!!!
Soooo... Tomorrow's Active rest will consist of at least an 800m Run, 3 x 2min Max D/U and some Rowing for sure...
Hepp ~ 11:16 (k2e)
Val ~ 10:36 / 55-67-84 (nice work on D/U...improvement from issues)
Feidt ~ 10:25
Syd ~ 8:30
tb ~ 7:42
Syd was a beast on box jumps thru the finish...not sure if he ever rested more than 10 sec after that! Short bursts with quick rest is the name of his game...He did the last round of 25 thrusters in 5's with a dropdown on 5 and picking it up within 3 breaths...(Which would be more work for me)...
Val was just solid on last set of thrusters...15 & 10 set...UNREAL!!!
Feidt...Just a hard worker... If JB cannot compete in Farmland Games we may be enlisting this guy!!!
tb "cheated" to games standard and did step ups for the box jumps...slower but no breaks thru the 25
Gamesmanship at its finest!!!
Hepp...snuck in his WOD after we all began...sliding under the radar of direct competition.
Similar to one Jacob Bertagnoli...he will join the group when he can dominate the WOD & the competition
